Forgiving God, I come again –
Yes, to apologise.
I’ve lived life from my selfish den,
Believing worldly lies.
–
Merciful God, forgive me, please
For going my own way;
And drifting through in thoughtless ease,
Forgetting, still, to pray.
–
O, Gracious God, I love the fact
That Jesus paid the price,
In that one great unselfish act;
That willing sacrifice.
–
I know that You send from above
Your Spirit, full of power,
To guide our lives in truth and love;
To shape us every hour.
–
I long to live as Your own child:
Your agent – not my own.
Surrendering my will, so wild
And giving You the throne.
–
So mould me now, good Lord I ask
And Holy Spirit, stay!
O, strip off every single mask
So I can face the day.
–
To live with true integrity
O Father, make me new!
I offer all that’s within me
And worship only You.
–
So God, Your strength is what I seek
To face all that’s ahead.
Please go before me all this week,
And be my daily bread.
