Oh what an ageless wonder
That rolling, tumbling freedom
Gazed upon since mankind first could gaze
That ever stirs up wild things within
Yet brings a stillness to the soul.
Oh what soothing softness
To walk barefoot alongside
Mingling warmth and coolness ordered by the sun
Ever-changing yet ever the same.
Oh what impossible straightness
The division, so flat and wide
Where blue meets blue and together they dance
To that smooth and endless melody.
Oh what a vast, open canvas
From blue to grey to black to blue
That transforms the set from one drama to the next
And commands loudly over all human emotion.
Oh what enchanting colour
Who knows where it begins or where it ends?
Surrounded on all sides by brilliance
Transitioning into dark or into light.
Oh what inspiring moments
In every place where that bluest blue meets solid green
Untameable, uncontrollable, older than the oldest
Yet younger and fresher than a child
Wondered at by all generations through endless ages.
