Moody Day

Sometimes I have a moody day,

Emotions running wild.

And everything’s dramatic, and

I curl up like a child.

Sometimes I have a moody day

When all things make me cry.

I snap and argue, grunt and glare,

And fail at all I try.

Sometimes I have a moody day

Where nothing quite goes right.

And everything I touch I break;

My mind whirrs through the night.

Sometimes I have a moody day:

My husband knows it well!

Admire his patience and his care;

He loves me, I can tell.

Sometimes I have a moody day;

Wish I could turn it round.

So hard to overcome it when

Head splits at every sound.

Sometimes I have a moody day

When I wish life would end.

It seems so hard to just go on;

To be a decent friend.

Today I had a moody day;

I hope I get some sleep.

Relieved the day is over now –

I just can’t help but weep.

Today I had a moody day;

And hope they’ll all forgive

The horrid me that surfaced here –

Not how I want to live.
