Playful

Golden-green adorned cliffs ever supervise the play

Of the energetic child who dances night and day

Painting landscapes in turquoise and richest of blue

And glimmering, glittering – oh what a view!

She leaps over boulders and dances in white

And dazzles the viewers with shimmering light

Creating great waterfalls over each rock

And exploding in foam after every small shock.

She’ll never grow old, this untameable child

Nor submit to anyone – she’s hopelessly wild

Her never ending dance depicts every emotion

With power and strength she sets all minds in motion.

Such secrets are hidden so deep down below

The likes of which no human could fully know

She’s demanding, excitable – surrounding all land

And stretching out too: spans the globe with her hand.

Her dance doesn’t stop at the rocks and the foam

No, her steps are dramatic; she does love to roam

In every dry corner and every dim cave

Doesn’t mind when I sit and gaze after each wave.

Now as the dance shifts, rocks slowly emerge

And white sandy beaches – yet waters still surge

To fill up the rock pools and never sit still

And out of them slosh again, all at her will.

A wonder is she, to each generation

And captivates hearts across many a nation.

And I, thus bewitched, will forever admire

Her playful, adventurous heart that won’t tire.
