Oh wondrous raindrops
Birth hope in a parched spirit
Promise of life, new growth
Spring forth in shriveled land.
Oh wondrous air
To captivate these hungry lungs
Dare not tease nor tantalise
But set free from suffocated gasps
Oh wondrous bread
To shriveled stomach long forgot
Brings swift end to the long dull ache
Energy pulses as in a woken child
Oh wondrous light
Flinging off scales from tired eyelids
Long accustomed to dreaded dark
Once again embarking upon hope
Oh wondrous breeze
Fresh vitality in endless desert
Face driven by despair to forget
The wonder of that blissful sensation.
Oh wondrous tears
Fierce burst through cracked rock
Shock of rain, air, bread, light, wind
Refuses captivity, strides in the open.
